The supermodel will join the New York cast from April 6th through April 27th, after which she will join the show’s national tour in Los Angeles for 12 days in May.

Of course Brinkley is probably best known for all those magazine covers, which included appearances in Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Rolling Stone and countless others. But she’s also no stranger to acting either. Brinkley has appeared on the big screen in movies like National Lampoon’s Vacation and National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation. Her television credits include roles in episodes of Ugly Betty, Mad About You and her own show, Living in the 90s – With Christie Brinkley.

If you’d like to catch Christie Brinkley’s return to Chicago, we’ve got a tour scheduled for Saturday, April 21st.
We told you last August that a revival of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire was making its way to the Great White Way. Now comes the announcement that the production will make its home at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre later this Spring. The show will star Blair Underwood and Nicole Ari Parker.

Set against the backdrop of New Orleans’ gritty French Quarter, Streetcar tells the tale of former school teacher and socialite Blanche DuBois, as she’s forced to move in with her sister Stella and her animalistic husband Stanley. But the fragile, Blanche quickly gets a gritty life lesson in the seamy, steamy underbelly of 1940′s New Orleans.

A Streetcar Named Desire originally debuted on Broadway in 1947 starring then virtual unknowns Marlon Brando and Jessica Tandy. It has been revived on the Great White Way several times since, most recently in 2005 starring John C. Reilly and the late Natasha Richardson.

While no firm dates have been set for A Streetcar Named Desire, you can be sure that we’ll have that information for you when it becomes available.

And that’s today’s ShowBus Buzz. We’ll be back early next week with our next blog update. Please join us then.

For those of a certain age, Nick Jonas is best known as part of the popular musical group, The Jonas Brothers. But tonight, he makes his debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Jonas will star opposite Beau Bridges at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Jonas is the third leading man for the popular musical comedy since its opening last March. The show began with Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe in the lead. Then earlier this month, TV’s Glee star Darren Criss took over the role for a 3-week limited engagement. But tonight, all eyes will be on Jonas as he brings J. Pierrepont Finch to life on the stage.

This latest incarnation of the famous Broadway musical marked the 50th anniversary of the original production. With the aid of a trusty self-help book, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, wily window washer J. Pierrepont Finch (Jonas) enjoys a riotous rise up the corporate ladder. Can he get the promotion, the corner office and the girl, or will he learn that balancing business and pleasure can be precarious – but hilarious – and oh, so much fun?

If there’s a Jonas Brothers fan in your life – or if you’re a Jonas Brothers fan – plan to join us to see How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Our next tour leaves Saturday, February 25th, a perfect addition to the School Vacation week!

It was almost a year ago that we began telling you about Magic/Bird, an upcoming Broadway production that chronicles the lives of NBA legends Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. Now the show has found a home on the Great White Way. The production will reside at the Longacre Theatre, with previews beginning on March 21st and opening night set for April 11th.

Magic/Bird will star actor Kevin Daniels as Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Tug Coker in the role of Larry Bird. The story traces the stars’ competition and friendship from their days as NBA rookies to their appearance on the 1992 Olympic Dream Team. As hoop fans of that era will remember, Johnson and Bird played integral roles in the historic rivalry between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1980s.

While tickets aren’t available yet, we’ll let you know as soon as that changes. Who knows – maybe you can get that sports fan in your life to a Broadway show yet!

The production stars Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis and David Alan Grier.

It’s anticipated that tonight’s audience will be filled with celebrities and VIPs. Among those expected to be in attendance are Liza Minnelli, Angela Lansbury, Spike Lee, Paul Simon, Matthew Broderick, Candice Bergen, Alan Alda and a laundry list of other “beautiful people.”

The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess is set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, where the beautiful Bess struggles to break free from her scandalous past, and the only one who can rescue her is the crippled but courageous Porgy. Threatened by her formidable former lover Crown, and the seductive enticements of the colorful troublemaker Sporting Life, Porgy and Bess’ relationship evolves into a deep romance that triumphs as one of theater’s most exhilarating love stories.

Porgy and Bess originally premiered in New York in the fall of 1935. It featured an entire cast of classically trained African-American singers, a creative decision considered very daring for the times.

Two of the current productions on the Great White Way have announced that they will close shortly.

This Sunday will mark the final performance for the “basketball musical” Lysistrata Jones at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The production opened less than a month ago on December 14th but has experienced a disappointing box office.

Relatively Speaking, which featured a series of one-act comedies from Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, is set to close on January 29th at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre. When it goes dark, the show will have completed 153 performances since beginning previews in September of last year.

He’s best known for his role as Blaine Anderson on TV’s Glee. Now Darren Criss begins a limited engagement filling the shoes of Daniel Radcliffe in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.

Criss made his debut as J. Pierrepont Finch last night at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre. He joined newcomer Beau Bridges who takes over for John Larroquette as J.B. Biggley. But unlike Bridges, Criss’ role ends on January 22nd, to make room for Nick Jonas who will assume the role on January 24th.

This debut of this latest revival of the famous Broadway musical marked the 50th anniversary of the original production. With the aid of a trusty self-help book How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, wily window washer J. Pierrepont Finch enjoys a riotous rise up the corporate ladder. Can he get the promotion, the corner office and the girl, or will he learn that balancing business and pleasure can be precarious – but hilarious – and oh, so much fun?

If you’d like to see How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying with us, it’s as easy as clicking here. There’s still time to see Darren Criss on our January 21st tour. After that, you can look forward to Nick Jonas along with Beau Bridges.

It’s been a busy and exciting week at our sister site, ShowBusTours.com, as we’ve added three new Broadway hits to the list of shows we’ll be traveling to on January 21st and beyond. Take a look at what’s new:

CHINGLISH: An American businessman arrives in a bustling Chinese province looking to score a lucrative contact for his family’s sign-making firm. He soon discovers that the complexities of such a venture far outstrip the expected differences in language, customs and manners – and call into question even the most basic assumptions of human conduct.

CHINGLISH is performed in both English and Mandarin (with English subtitles). And New York Magazine calls it “a triumph in any language! Sexy, fun and hilarious.”

STICK FLY: It was a relaxing weekend on Martha’s Vineyard … until the baggage got unpacked. Meet the LeVays. When two adult sons independently choose to introduce their girlfriends to the parents on the same weekend, sibling rivalries flare, opinions clash, class distinctions divide and family secrets unravel.

Produced by singer Alicia Keys, Stick Fly is a wickedly funny, endlessly surprising new play by Lydia R. Diamond, directed by Kenny Leon.

PORGY & BESS: The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess now comes to Broadway in a stunning and stirring new staging, featuring such legendary songs as “Summertime,” “It Ain’t Necessarily So,” and “I Got Plenty of Nothing.” The classic story by DuBose and Dorothy Heyward is set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, where the beautiful Bess struggles to break free from her scandalous past, and the only one who can rescue her is the crippled but courageous Porgy. Threatened by her formidable former lover Crown, and the seductive enticements of the colorful troublemaker Sporting Life, Porgy and Bess’ relationship evolves into a deep romance that triumphs as one of theater’s most exhilarating love stories.

Our next trip to Broadway is on January 21st. To join us to see these or any of the other shows we offer, simply click here. Then just pick a show… and go!
