Folks here in Western Massachusetts know the Foxwoods name well for the nearby casino and resort. But now that name will be well known in The Big Apple too, as the Hilton Theatre takes on its new name – Foxwoods Theatre – effective immediately.
The 1800 seat theatre on 42nd Street has undergone extensive renovations over the last year in anticipation of its first big show under the new name. Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark begins rehearsals at the venue later this month, though its official opening date has yet to be announced.
We’re told that the Foxwoods brand will be incorporated into all exterior and interior venue signage, including the theater’s iconic sign overlooking 42nd Street and in the theater’s VIP Suite and the Dress Circle Lobby. Foxwoods Theatre will have its own unique logo and website, www.foxwoodstheatre.com.
