Spider-Man Begins Rehearsals (Finally!)

Reeve Carney

It’s been delayed, and delayed, and delayed again. Originally slated to hit The Great White Way back in 2008, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has been plagued with financial problems that stood in the way of launching the $45 million musical. Now comes word that full-cast rehearsals will finally begin on August 16th.

Drawing from over forty years of Marvel comic books for inspiration, the pricey musical will be directed by Julie Taymor, with music by U2 bandmates Bono and The Edge. The lead role of Peter Parker will be played by Reeve Carney.

While no firm dates have yet been announced, we do know that the show will reside at the Hilton Theatre at 213 W 42nd Street. Watch here for more information as it becomes available.

And that’s today’s ShowBus Buzz. We’ll be back early next week with our next blog update. Please join us then.
