After recently marking its 400th performance, the producers of Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage have announced that the show will close on Sunday, June 27th.
The show, now playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, is a comedy about two couples who fight over an altercation between their sons. It opened in March of 2009 with Jeff Daniels, Marcia Gay Harden and James Gandolfini among its notable cast members. Later that year, the production went on to win three Tony Awards – a Best Play award, a Best Actress award for Harden, and a Best Director nod for Matthew Warchus. The current cast includes Daniels (in a different role) along with Dylan Baker, Lucy Liu, and Janet McTeer.
